I have used both Whites models and tried the Minelab for a day. I now have an X5 and love the weight and simplicity of it.The Tesoros are similar. I think they are underrated in the detecting world and if I trade the X5 I'll get a Tesoro. I hunt with 2 guys who have the Tejons and they do great on coins and relics. They also have less trouble on differentiating iron signals than with other detectors. The DFX, E2, and IDX are all great but the Tesoro would give you a break from the weight and be better in the trash. It might mean the difference of swinginga few more yea rs w/o carpal tunnel or shoulder problems.

You could probably tell us more as to why you are considering one Jim.
