Instead of tumbling a batch of coins with hot water and one of the many solution concoctions out there, I figured a dry tumble should also be effective. The coins rubbing against each other plus the removal of the dried sediments makes an excellent mixture for cleaning. After about an hour, I just added hot water several times to the open canister and dumped it out until the water was clean. I then spread out the coins on a newspaper and they came out nice and clean.
A nice alternative to cleaning up a mess batch of coins washed with soap, gravel, kitty litter, ammonia or other common additives.
