I Tried A Dry Coin Tumbler Batch With Yesterday's Finds:cheers:

Instead of tumbling a batch of coins with hot water and one of the many solution concoctions out there, I figured a dry tumble should also be effective. The coins rubbing against each other plus the removal of the dried sediments makes an excellent mixture for cleaning. After about an hour, I just added hot water several times to the open canister and dumped it out until the water was clean. I then spread out the coins on a newspaper and they came out nice and clean.

A nice alternative to cleaning up a mess batch of coins washed with soap, gravel, kitty litter, ammonia or other common additives.

What kind of tumbler do you have? I've never seen one with an open canister.
And John, I saw in another thread where you used stainless steel shot...where do you get that from? I saw somewhere else where that cleaned silver like no other. I need to get me a serious tumbler sometime. All I have now is a little cheapo.
