I call my camera "Lil Mary' Because it gives me alot of pleasure and drives me nuts at times.
I am still trying to get a feel for macro shots ov bugs. My focus is not dead on and I think it might be because I am not using a tripod. Maybe I just have to learn how to hold the darned camera still. These are not perfect but I am haveing fun with them and the insects are interesting if you really look at them..

They came out pretty good for not using a tripod Royal. At your age you need all the support you can get. For the camera I mean! Just kidding. You know I still love ya like the great, great grandfather I never knew! What camera are you using now?

I have a maciva CD300 now. I like it but is a bit slow.
YOu sure have come a long way with the PhotoShop! How about some lessons??
By the way--Bite me HAA

Pretty good bug shots! In case you were wondering those bugs in your last pics are called "stink bugs"...Pretty sure about that. I recall they are supposed to put off a pretty nasty odor if stepped on or disturbed...Once I was told, I never got too near 'em again!

I can not get the quality of picture I want. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I think the camera has the ability but I just don't know what I am doing.
Look at the quality of this picture! How the hell do they do that ?? Somebody tell me! Does Rick come to this page? Mebby he can tell us!

Really, I need TIME -- hour after hour of setting, focus, shoot. Hard to find space to schedule that with 5 kids. And then to study use of an imaging program?? Whew. When sharp quality as portrayed in this pic (and Crazyman's -- WOW!) are the goal, it is unsatisfying to produce the fuzzy, undetailed, not-close-enough shots I have for show.
Here I sit at the computer, stuck in a forum -- I could use a course, perhaps, in time management!! :giggle: As well as an eye exam? Could be part of the focus result? I found two grey hairs, ya know. Smiles.

What I've posted is not really the result of good photography but the result of good photoshop knowledge. Personally my camera choice helps also. The Sony F707 is a remarkable camera that takes excellent pictures with beautiful color. If you want I know of a great free program to enhance shots if you like that kind of look. It is easy to use and will sharpen, saturate, denoise and balance the shot to your preference once set in one click.

I would prefer Photoshop, of course -- all I have is the software that came along with my camera. It is obvious that your works are the result of artistry -- tho it is evident they begin with fantastic photographs.

that he is appreciated! He is really a tug boat captain and a tyrant as I understand it but.....a good man to have on your side

Actually, I guess I am. The good man part was uncalled for though!
