I thought this was a piece of a bracelet-Not sure after a closer look.

The barrels of rolled metal are evernly spaced from end to end.The 4 middle are the same with the end 2 sequently shorter. So I think I got most of whatever it was. I scanned the hole in all metal for a while after finding it. Had at least 10 nails in the hole & a 30's snap button.

The sight has given me some older coins & some stamped roman soldier links from a bracelet or necklace & the indian "thermometer" holder or whatzit I posted a while back.I added the pics for reference.

Came up untarnished but dirty. I took a small scratch on an end link-dang if it isn't yeller!...

I'm guessing not but I will get it tested.

Is this part of a watch fob or?.
Thanks for looking!

First item is a sword belt chain.

My 1st Masonic item!

And this little spot has been "cleaned out" by me for a while now. But I've found the large population of gophers there do a good job of pushing things up in the debris piles. This was a large pile & like I said had lots of nails in it. I run my coil over the piles in all metal & remove any nails on top-then scan again. Its a very small spot with a lot of debris-the house was pushed into the cellar(sigh-its common practice here). But the older wheats I've pulled here are gorgeous green patina with no fertalizer burns.

Thanks again-thats not like it-it IS it-exactly.

Awesome find! And props agian on another challenging ID, Taz. How do you 'happen' to find the exact thing without any info on an item? Did you recognize the chain?? Its not like you can google 'rolled metal chain' and find that.
