Base: coil come in....do you read me?
Confirm Base, this is coil....
Base: What do you see down there?
Coil: We see what appears to be a round disc of sorts but we are having a hard time "reading" the whole area as there is some form of anomaly touching the round object.
Base: We are receiving a numerical value of 77 in one direction otherwise the screen is blank and the audio is choppy...maybe more like a clipped blip. This confirms your suspicions of an anomaly. We are also confirming the object is approx 10" deep. Iron Audio is active and does not indicate any ferrous nearby.
Coil: Roger Base. Continue to swing back and forth over the object and turn us to several different angles so we can provide a better "look" for you.
Base: 10-4.
Coil: Sorry base, we can not "see" the disc from any other angle. Bring us back to the original angle so we can take one last look and provide you with our final report.
Base: Sorry coil, we just can not get a complete picture of what has been located. The best thing to do is to call in the excavation unit and see what type of artifact we are dealing with.
Coil. 10-4.
I can understand why this baby was missed all these years. This is the type of old park to where I do not even hunt the grass areas anymore. The park has been severely depleted and beaten to death. Although, there is this one little corner of the park that is heavily wooded.....I have hunted a couple of times and made a few nice silver dime finds.

Why not hit it again?!! I have been soaking the coin all night and cleaned up pretty good. Still going to soak it a little longer and hopefully more crud will fall off. Anyhow, When I first pulled it out of the hole, the object was extremely encrusted and appeared to be a large washer as there was "knob" of rust on one side. This rust laying on the coin masked it for a very, very long time however, the AT Pro was able to provide a partial report of what was lying there. The rest was up to the operator I now know why detectorists never dug it - rust was protecting it. Truth-be-told - I would never of wasted my time on a signal like this. I suppose now, I need to invest some time. I want to point out the AT Pro stated the object was at 10" deep. In reality it was no more then 7".

You may want to investigate this type of signal: I would swing over (the coin) and a brief 77 would show up with a "clip of audio". Swinging on the way back there was nothing. Just silent with no TID and NO audio. The audio was "clipped" Not full sounding like a coin usually is. Scanned in different directions and I saw and heard nothing. I just happened to scan this coin at the right angle and was in a dig-all type of mood. The next good target after this was merc dime right near a big old tree. No doubts to what I was digging (a clear dime signal) I then received a 80-82 signal (with the tip of the 5x8 coil) right up against the tree base. Out pops the silver Rosey. NICKELS: (not shown) I was running into little patches of iron near the base of the tree but would get intermittent jumpy 50's for a TID with tons of iron cracklin' away. I just decided to dig it all around the base of the tree and to my surprise I found 3 nickels (in different locations around the base) that didn't even sound like coin signals. It was a strange day to say the least (with signals) that just didn't add up. However, I am learning boat loads on how the AT Pro operates. I also found a few wheat cents from the1950's as well. A good day and my motivation for digging a ton of iffy signals paid off.
