Dean gave me a bit of a heads up on the battalion. But can anyone help with the rest.
This was again, from the same ghost town. Found about 2 weeks ago. It is stirling.
Thanks again
M

This unit was raised in 1916, the CO was Lt. Col. J. McKay. Unit Strength was 427 men. The unit never saw Combat, when it got to England it was Absorbed by the 1st Reserve Battalion, which supplied Men as replacements for The Battns fighting in France. Most higher numbered Battns never saw combat as units, they were also broken up for replacements. The strength for a "Combat" Battn was 1000-1100 men, due to casualties, most "Combat" Battns went through 4000+ Men during the War.

This is a swagger stick top, and a VERY nice find. It would be nice to find a stick needing a top or one with a plain top to put this on.
If you ever want to get rid of it....

I have no desire yet to get rid of any of my militaria.
However, if, and when, I do, you will be the first that I call.
All the best
