I THINK RUMORS POSTED ABOUT warranty NOT ALL TRUE

someone had post about rumors hearing about tesoro having the best warranty lifetime for new and use detectors
and many posted this is true but according to there web site this is just for owners who bought new and as long as they own the detectors . that would be a heck of a warranty if it was to include use

Woweee,,,,Man Yeah, that really would be "a heck of a warranty if it was to include use" of 2 nd.,3 rd.,4th, 15th, etc.owners. But surely there would always be those digger dudes that would never believe that be true because of all their experiences with those big time high $ socalled "faithful ,tried and true detector Cos' that have been taking them to the cleaners for so long. Oh well, as they say, "their loss, our gain". They also say "GET A LIFE", Better yet, I say, 'GET A LIFE!" HH Charlie

So what you're saying is, they still have the best warranty in the business? Yep you're right!:beers:

Here are my experiences with Tesoro service:

1) Had a 5.75 coil I bought used with the 8' cable. I sent it in and they shortened the cable at no charge.

2) I bought a used Cortes in 2008 that was defective. It would sound off all the time, and when you passed a coin under the coil, it went silent. Total opposite of how it should work. I called Tesoro, and spoke with James, then president of the company. He walked me through a few things to try, then suggested I send it in for repairs. He told me that if a machine has no visible signs of abuse, they would fix it for free. He was very concerned that he had a machine out there that wasn't working right. I sent it in, they fixed it, and tuned it. It worked like a champ when I got it back.

3) I bought a used Tiger Shark in November, and it has a lot of issues. The sensitivity adjustment did nothing, and the GB was all funky. I could get about 3" max in an air test. I sent it in, and they fixed it for free. I had a nice hand written letter from Rusty included in it, including spare parts I may need. When I got it back, I noticed that the headphones only had sound in one ear. I e-mailed Rusty directly, and he was very apologetic for not catching that, and strongly suggested I send it back. He said he would watch for it and move it to the top of the queue. He e-mailed me the other night at 11 pm to tell me he put on new headphone, double checked the tuning, and would have it back in the mail the next day. He was very apologetic for the issues I was having. I should have it back in a few days, no charge.

In all cases I made it perfectly clear that these were used machines.

So don't even dare questioning Tesoro warranty to me. There is no MD company out there that would treat you like this. I currently have 3 Tesoros and will be a customer as long as I can swing a detector (I'm not that old, so hopefully that'll be a long time!) .:clapping:

I've heard or read of numerous repairs on machines sent by owners other than the original. I'm sure there may be exceptions, especially if it appears the machine has been abused, but all in all Tesoro seems to bend over backwards to keep their machines detecting. I've got 6 and have only needed to send one in for a tuneup (not break down) which was taken care of quickly so I can't speak from much personal experience, but I'm betting that even if one had to pay for a repair it would probably be reasonable.

I had a Conquistador with a bad mode switch. Sent it to Prescott, they fixed it free.

Some time later I sent in a Tejon that wasn't even mine, ( belonged to a friend ), They fixed it free, no questions asked.

I now have a Cibola and a Whites MXT. I am looking for a new home for the MXT because if it fails I'll have to pay

for repair parts and a $45 an hour labor charge + shipping both ways and who knows what else.

my eldorado had to have a coil fixed, no charge, used machine, got it back to ga in two weeks. wow! i have a modified monkeyed with amigoII that i would just eat if it went, would not take advantage of these fine folks, would definetly demand to pay for it being fixed. i tip a good waitress even if the food is lousy. and tipped a cook onetime when the food was great and the waitress lousy. I recommend tesoro constantly because they are the best in my humble opinion, and like i said before, if they went under, i would still buy them used.

Oh, does Tesoro have a warranty???? :yikes:----Only the best in the business!!!----Let me put it this way--they (Tesoro) will take (fine) care of you if the machine is under their great (lifetime) warranty---AND, they will take (fine) care of you if the machine is used (2,3,4,5, etc.owner).----In the (not too often) case you should need repair and IF in the (not too often) case they charge you for repair as a subsequent owner, it's not going to break your pocket book (UNLIKE some other brands).-----Do we gotta go thru all this again guys???---We're sorta "preachin to the choir" ain't we???------Well, maybe this thread will help some "new to Tesoro" owner, I hope so! ;) --------Del

to sell his Minelab detector..........bet'cha he's thinking of converting to Tesorism. Just needs confirmation.
We're a friendly bunch, invite him in.

I put a manual ground balance on my Cibola and I call Tesoro for a matching knob. I was prepared to use my debit card for the purchase but they sent me one for free. No question asked. Great friendly service.

That's Tesoro for ya---and that's not an unusual case either.---It's pretty much typical of Tesoro great service & sending certain items out "for free".--------Del

Well, it just seems to me like that initial post was made to try to stir up trouble, doubt or WHATEVER the intentions was, who knows?----With all the many, many reports of Tesoros excellent warranty AND service (including for the most part, free service on used machines).-----If you don't want to believe it, FINE---"go play somewhere else".-----Over the years, I've only been charged a SMALL repair fee one time on a used detector and that was for replaceing a damaged screen on a DeLeon.----The damaged screen was my fault, not Tesoros and the replacement was somewhat involved but even then I was only charged $15.----Any other of the (rare) repairs or re-calibrations I've had done (either new or used) was done without charge.-----Also, they get the detector back to you in a TIMELY fashion.----Is that good treatment or what????-----I think the initial post is just plain silly----Tesoros excellent warranty & service AIN'T RUMORS!-----------Del
