We have some elderly friends who live near a park, and the flood control system, recently the town put in a walking path and a socer field right behind our friends house....
At the end of May, our friend asked me to come over with my metal detector and check for some posts he had lost. We had flooded here in early May, so I decided this would be a good challenge to get some practice with my detector.... to my amazement,I found the posts right away, they were several feet away from where our friend thought they were supposed to be... since I had found the posts so quickly, I decided to swing around parts of the walk path that was close to our friends property... I had a really good signal... sure it would be something like a nail, or a bolt from a tire.... I ignored it for a few moments, then went back to it... the ground was hard to dig, so I am glad this was not requiring true digging, part of the object was sticking up... I thought it was a kids ring, cleaned it off and took a double look, checked to see if the metal was marked... I could not read the marks, the dang thing was so small, it would fit my pinkie finger.... I took the ring to my jewelers the next morning, to learn it was 14K white gold with yellow gold, and the sparkle was indeed diamonds... I thought I was going to faint! I decided to turn the ring into the PD in case a lost report was out on the ring... I had to wait 90 days before I could claim the ring as mine, it seemed like it was going to be forever for those 90 days to pass, but finally they did.... I took the ring straight back to my jewelers, and had it resized to fit me (it was a size 4!) The center stone is 1/4 carat with bagets around, then chips on both sides of the band.... there is a chip missing on each side, and one chip that has a chip in the stone...
I been holding my breath just waiting to post pictures! I am wearing the ring... this baby is mine! I dont know total karat weight on the ring... will find out later...
