I just dont know any more, This is my third v3 Dont get me wrong i like my detector it just i cant get it write it seams like i not getting any depth out of it.When i here a faint signal im thinking its a deep target and its not its only 6 inches and some times when i pin point its as the target sound it low.....There is lot to adjust on this detector maybe its just me....

What do you mean it is your third V3? It's important to know what was wrong with the others. Let us know so we can give educated advice.

I would think 1 machine a problem could be there but 3 machines and the same type of problems.Well that would have to be user error.Stock programs do better than you have explained your settings are doing. Maybe You should put it all back to stock and just change 1 thing at a time and use each one several days and see just what they do before you go to the next change. It just sounds as if you are being over whelmed by the adjustments. And are you sure there are deep targets where you are hunting? Sorry to say it but some times you got to learn to walk before you can run. Yazoo

I wish you would explain the 3 detectors, please. Otherwise the post gets out of hand. You made a statement please explain.

3 out of 3 --- something doesn't seem right.
Don't know what to say about that, just ain't right.
There has to be some explanation on why this isn't working for you. Otherwise, what are the odds...

OK Greg (LSHunter) correct me if I remember incorrectly. You had a Vision, and then you bought a V3. You had some trouble I don't remember you saying what it was. Carl read your post and they gave you a new V3. You posted it worked great and recommended people go out and get one. Is that your 3 detectors?

So if it was operating correctly and you where happy, you must not be doing something right. Give us your setting and we will see if we can help.
Now the V is not for everyone and it looks like there are people interested if you are selling. Rob

hey greg, dont give up on the v3 because you cant get super depths,,,,,, there,s alot of factors involved for sure. i figure another month or 2 we,ll have the v3 seeing 24 inches if you know what i mean. haha, ive found more with my v3i than i ever have and i would say the most has been between 4-8 inches.. in a few cases i think ive got a few down around 10 in the right conditions, whatever they may have been. im just a noob at this but i think you would do yourself and your machine an injustice if you believe youll get these depths all the time. anything i find deeper than 8 around here i figure is a bonus . now on the beach may be different..im just an ole dirt digger. depth will come with experience. goodluck

I cant really give the type of advice that Larry, Rob, The Marshall or many others on this site could give you. But if there is a problem just ask and the people on this forum WILL help. I am a beginner to metal detecting and started with the V3i. Alot of people said that I may have jumped into the deep end when I did that, but who cares. With practice and this forum and practice. I am finding more and learning alot.
And as far as depth goes. The V3i has been pulling some pretty deep targets with hardly any tweeking. I pulled a penny at the beach at little over 24".
Good luck with any decision you make

Im not sure, but real deep. I have dug a few cans that were well over 24" but didnt bother to measure.
Now, if my VDI is reading in the 70's and my pinpoint hits real hard in the green and I have dug almost 2 feet. I stop. It always turns out to be a can.

i have dug deeper than that at the beach. when you run in all metal, threshold increases a little but nothing on screen more times than not it is good deep target. strock

Since LSHunter has his V3 up for sale, not need to continue the post.
