I think I'm getting the hang of it lol

Half was on end and i.d. as a quarter. The two rosies where in the same hole.. and the merc was a really really iffy signal... so I think I'm getting the etrac down.

Lord! :yikes: You gotta do a backstory of your hunt! Everyone will want to know, especially after seeing a pic like this...so type it up and be ready! Stellar work, congratulations on a huge day!!

You better take me to where you hunt...LOL

Thank you. OK so I have been hunting this property for two years with the minelab safari. First time out with the etrac produced 2 rosies. Today I got there at around 11 am. First few signals where the typical bullets and 2 wheaties ( I don't check dates on wheaties :/) when I got a fairly nice 11-45 signal at about 4 inches. Since I am kinda daft I always end up having to break the plug open to get the goods lol. Out pops the merc dime... I was happy since I havnt had a ton of luck since I have had the etrac. After a butter knife, about a zillion bullets and ammo links for a Belt fed machine gun( thanks R.O.T.C.) and decide to head over to an area I have hunted alot with the safari and my brother hunted with the AT Pro. After a nickel was pulled out of the ground I headed around the back side of this briar bush. I started detecting around a group of fallen trees when I got a very broken 11-47 signal that would immediately null from iron. At about 6 inches this really nice silver rim pops out.. i was immediately before hand thinking about playing a prank on my brother by putting a walking liberty half in a plug and sending it to him :) ( crappy yes but since he moved to Texas I havnt gotten to hunt with him very much and we have hunted together since I found it.. he kinda deserves it lol) I snapped a picture before breaking it out of the ball of dirt. I decided to hit around the edge of the field and got a half decent 12-46 signal and at about three or four inches out pops a rosie... checking the hole again gives me another 12-46 signal just below the other and out pops another dime.. after about 7 more wheaties and a knock slide for the boy scouts my wife calls me and tells me if I don't get home I will no longer have a wife or a home lol so I make the long crawl back to the car... all in all it was a great day in the park:)

You really ought to check your wheat dates, some are quite valuable. I may be sorta different, but I always enjoy seeing any oldies (copper or silver) coming out of the ground in an "old" area. Some better ones I've dug: 1909 VDB, 1911D, 1912S, 1914D, 1914S, 1922 "no D". Sell me a sack of unchecked wheaties...:poke:

I have a tub full of them. Lol some day when I'm bored I will clean them up and check them. My brother checks them usually. I'm just after the silver. I don't sell anything I find. I just like the silver.... I did trade a walking half and a Franklin half and merc dime for a Vulcan 360 pinpointer..

awesome story and pictures.....but i agree with you your real treasure is your wife. congrats on getting the hang of the etrac, the more you use it the easier it gets.....

You won't ever get tired of your E-Trac. I have been using mine for over 6 years and not tired of it yet!

Wow ... your doing fantastic !
A big congrats on all the Silver and that great looking Walking Half !

Thanks. I want to get back out but sadly I have girl scout outings and school stuff to do. Maybe this afternoon but we will see.
