I think I'm about to get the hang of this machine.......

Back out to the local high school today, considering Saturday was a total wash due to rain. By about 11:00 a.m., sun was shining and temps warming up enough to make an afternoon of it. All of the rain yesterday made the ground and target reaction noticeably different than what I was experiencing last week, so it took a little time to get use to the differences I was hearing. Ground was absolutely saturated in some of the areas I usually hunt, so will have to go back to them later when it dries out a little.

Today was another "clad day", and I dug everything that gave a good signal, including 2 junk rings, an earring, misc. other junk items, and a BUNCH of coins including another 6 silver dimes from an area near the old railroad tracks where there use to be an old farmers market, one of my best daily coin counts in a long time. Total was 291 coins from 11:00 am until a little after 4:30 p.m., still averaging about one coin per minute. Spent about 30 minutes hunting under the football field bleechers, and that boosted the count up a little in a relatively short time period. It was pretty obvious that someone had been cleaning out the surface coins on a regular basis, because most of what I brought out had been there for awhile from the looks of the discoloration.

Clad is clad, but it's still fun....... :)

Dang...Whatta a haul... I need to find some good locations
like you all hunt. Still trying to get an idea what is
legal or not around here in Houston. I know some north
side parks are already supposably off limits, but not
sure about others. I did a search for the local parks,
and could find nothing. At least thats better than no...
As far as the parks, I think I'm just gonna try them, and
and see what happens. We have a lot of local constables that
patrol around. I'm sure they will let me know fast, if they
have a problem with it.. :( I know there has got to be lots
of good private places around town, but I'm kind of a scaredy cat
when it comes to asking property owners if I can dig in their
yards... :/ Between you , John, and a few others I think you
must have "good coin site" radar..:)

Awesome day again for ya, Ralph.

Man, about a coin a minute? That is just incredible; your photos are a great inspiration to us newer guys and gals.

Thanks and keep the pics coming....:garrett::clapping:

I've about decided it's time to start a little judicious notching with the 250 so I can ignore some of that zinc crap being as I usually only get out for 2 or 3 hours at a time to hunt these days. Just a few quarters would make up for that whole pile of rot !
