I hit a place this am I've never been to, located it by using Mapquest Satellite...big school/sportsfield complex....it was a bit out of my territory, but I needed to hear some Pings pretty bad, and since Rosie gets over 30mpg, we went on over, I told myself I was gonna get 20 bucks today to make it worth my while, either in coins or cans....rolled up on it a little after 6am...grass was deep and wet, and had some sort of netting down in the roots, like a 1'mesh? Evidently what they use nowadays when a field is resurfaced...Impossible to get a trowel through, too tough to cut with a knife even, some sort of green nylon mesh? Ever seen it? Thats why there was so much deep clad in here! A clad stabbers DREAM!
The wet deep grass made it hard to accurately hit the coins on first stab, and a lot of them were on edge, very few surface drops, so somebody is getting those, but not going after the deeper mesh protected coins. I was doing the "little drummerboy, coil hop"... never once used the PP button...had the 70 set up light like usual...I was sweating and overheated in short order, pouch heavy, glasses all fogged up...composed myself and cooled off at a sprinker head that graciously popped up and took a mighty wiz!.....ground balanced and set up 67 sens and went back through...highgrading Q's...finally got a dollar coin, a nice 4q stack, lots of 2's and 3's, several tight spills...all of the coins in the pic I tumbled, and you can see they have been there a while!
Ive been beach and water hunting all week, and as I've said before, that is some brutal, exhausting, and barren work for the most part...a guy needs gas and beer money until the gold shows up, fast clad grabbing in a location such as this pays off big every so often...whoever lost the knife also lost a dime, I tried to focus on the nickels for a bit, just to not disappoint, but it was so Q heavy of a spot, a guy has to go back for them..I never once got on the playing fields, where the silver/gold chains are, just the sidelines and fencelines, under the bleachers, entrance gates, primary school doors, along the parking lot at the snowplow zone, etc...only stabbed a few trash items..the coins were so crisp!....now I wish I went in there for jewelry...maybe next weekend? I was home by noon!...F70 quick brooming clad!..what a rush!
Mud.
