I still don't understand mineralization numbers

Maybe I'm dense, but it still hasn't come together for me in regard to mineralization. I am considering the 9x12 concentric for a favoured field, when crops allow. I remember ground balancing generally at around 84 in that field. Is this considered moderate or heavy mineralization ? I am wondering if it is worthwhile to get this coil for that field. From what I understand, the DD is good for mineralization while the concentric is for mild or neutral soil. What numbers are neutral soil ? Or am I looking at this all incorrectly ? I really don't know. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I get 84 in some of the lakes I hunt. I don't think it's highly mineralized at all. I usually run at full sensitivity or down one notch, and that's with my large concentric coil..

There is a chart in the AT Gold manual. Admittedly it is not the AT Pro but it will give you an idea. This is free on the Garrett website maybe warranty and support tab.

You're welcome. You might call Garrett and ask someone there. The ground balance number is kinda like an average. The chart shows anything over 66 as highly ferrous. Not sure that really means high mineralization. I would say if you are getting a lot of ground noise in All Metal that would be a good sign you are in high mineralization.

I should be ok with the 9x12 in that farm field as it is mainly sandy clay. But there is extreme variation here. I found a small 1950's silver pocket spill along a creek were the coins were actually corroded under the encrustation ! I have never seen that with silver anywhere up here before. The lower areas were people gathered around water is at times super mineralized. I can definitely see a use for the concentric and DD around here.
