I seem to be getting a number of "73" on my C$ display every now and then........................

Not owning a C$, but some guesses in order of most likely first:

1. Hot Rocks.
2. In hot ground, an iron target wrapping back around in phase from the top.
3. Incorrect GB.
4. In hot ground, sensitivity too high.
5. RF interference.
6. Evil sand/soil inside a coil cover.

or electrical interference. It doesn't happen often, and it's only a flash when it does. It's never solid signal like I have had with say hot rocks at "51". Also if not mistaken it's always at the end of a swing like a CZ70 will do when the sesitivity is too hi and it causes it to false.
