When this guy says it's new it's really new. :jump:
Great transaction, Great communication by phone, and email, and super fast delivery.
Soon as I got home I had to put it together, and start it up.
What a dream machine :))
But 79 pages in the manual ? Wish it came with a DVD. A little more then the Ace 250, but like the first detector I bought. White's Quantum II
I'll read the manual some more tonight and learn the set ups and hopefully if we don't get much snow for the weekend I'll find a spot just to take it out. Won't be able to dig ,but I'll have fun anyway. and at a later time go back and retrieve my finds.
And if I have any questions, and I will, so I will be posting for help.

Happy Hunting to all

Bruce

I know that you are going to like the x-305. I hope you find lots of good stuff. Give it some time, it will be different from the 250. I recently bought a x-50 and I really like it so far. I know that it is going to take some time to get as efficient with it as I want to be. I am used to a learning curve because I have had a couple of Explorers. Good Luck with your new detector and post up some good finds.

Congrats on buying a great little machine Bruce.
I bought an X-Terra 30 when they first came out and this was the first detector that I was really successful with. The 305 with it's multi tones, ground balance and extra coil frequency, make it a much better detector. IMHO, as a coin hunter, I consider it to be every bit as good as the the X-Terra 70! In fact, if I didn't want to have a crack at gold hunting, the 305 is all I need to hunt with. I don't consider that the extra notches on the 70 give it much of an edge over the 305. I've found that 12 notches is plenty of discrimination in the real world. It may even give you a bit of an edge, in that unexpected good targets that you may not have dug because it may not have been on a certain notch, in which a coin may have been (on the 70/705).
Good luck with the new toy. It's a beauty!
Mick Evans.

Ck out the FAQ on the top of the page there is a video for X 30 may help you out.

Hay Bruce
welcome from one 305er to another one you will love your 305 . I love mine . works great just wait ting for spring . Right now we are under a winter storm warning in up state NY

It would be cool if the 705 had a adjustment to choose 12 notches. I liked the 12 notches on my old 30 better than all the notches on my old 70.

Hi Kenny.
I half wouldn't mind having a 305. I reckon that hunting by the 12 tones would be terriffic. Got enough detectors right now though.

I have been thinking about a 305 myself. It used to be that the 30 really didn't offer anything more you didn't get with an Ace 250. Now the 305 has a ton of features for a reasonable price. unless your hunting wet salt sand or prospecting for small nuggets - the 305 has everything you could need. Well, I wished all detectors had a back light!
