It gives me sizing information, signal strength, conductivity info in the three frequency mode, depth readout, and tells me whats going on around it as far as co-located targets in a no-motion all metal mode. I'm really supprised to see there has not been more information posted about this feature. I did a search and it only brought up a couple of ho-hum posts. I say there are some folks missing out on a great feature.
Turn VCO on and activate the Pinpoint Scan. It is a neat feature that gives a good visual match to the VCO audio. I think I'm about ready for a micro jewelry hunt this weekend using the pinpoint scan as the primary search mode. (no..I can't move it into the primary or secondary locations, but I can lock the V3 into pinpoint scan mode).
By the way if you want to stop the scan so you can analyze the data displayed, just overload the coil with something. The scan will stay stopped until the cause of the overload is removed. So you can use your scoop or digger or something like that to cause the overload.
I'm still researching what other features affect it as I sure like it.
The QXT model (of which I had two and they both sucked) had a scan that could be compared to this, but where the QXT scan was a Wright brothers first flight , the V3i Pinpoint Scan is like the space shuttle. I would sure like to get this on a primary search screen with SAT controls and a three, two or one frequency selection option.
Anyway, great job on a great feature. I like it!
