I Really Like My Lesche Digger A Lot....BUT

I sure wish the blade was about 2 inches longer, about 1/2 inch wider, a tad more concave and not so pointy.

It works great in the Summertime when the ground is rock hard, but I sure would like something else for when the ground is soft and soggy to make scooping easier.

BTW, if you ever use a hand digger with a T-handle, you'll put it on your must have list. It makes digging a whole lot easier.:)

Any suggestions?

There are many more available, and most dealers carry them..

I was once told the Lesch digger was designed for root cutting on Relic hunting sites. It was so good that coin poppers started using it.

You are correct about it not being good for scooping dirt but if it was more concave it wouldn't be as good for cutting plugs and that is where it shines.

I bet the Predator Model 31 with a T-handle installed could do some serious digging. Predator Tools makes some of best digging tools on planet

I wish they came standard with a T-handle. It just makes digging so much easier.

Your T handle Lesche looks good Tabman.-----What guage material did you use on the T & how did you go about affixing it on the handle?

It's aluminum and it slides into the end of the handle and secured with epoxy. It's solid as a rock!

A guy named @#$%^&*makes them. I got a back-up one, but I'm going to order a back-up for the back-up. They're that good. A real godsend when digging in hard dirt.

You can push down with just about all of your body weight and it gives you better leverage when prying. Also your wrist doesn't take a beating being at an awkward angle.

The T-handle and a Garrett ProPointer are must haves for me when detecting.

It seems I need to do some welding this morning!

After only a few weeks use the steel is pushing through the rubber handgrip in mine.

After a few hours of using the Lesche w/ the stock handle, my right palm was fubared. I remember waking up the next day and wondering what the hell I'd done to it. The T handle seems like a good idea. I loathe the idea of having to lug around a Lesche Sampson on top of all the other stuff, but I think to save my hands, wrists, and back I'm going to have to.
