Went for another ride today and found a spot on a stone trussell.
You know RR tracks. The only place the ground was thawed down about 5". People rock climb here as its about 75' over the river. all stone arch and gravel. Hoping to find a ring or something.
Finds consisted of
1 quarter
1 dime
1 pull tab
1 22 shell
and lots of SLAG... If you ever hunted RR tracks you know what I mean.
Okay, Okay, I broke down and went clad hunting. I couldn't help myself. I had to get out.:jump::detecting::jump:

Any hunt is better then sitting on the couch.I got out with the explorer and found 1887 IH and 5 wheats over the weekend all over 7" deep and iffy targets ,still learning the x terra on iffy targets didnt have much time to hunt,Glad to see you to get out. Looking forward to your posts.

Good to see you logged in some time, Bob. A few more days like today and it won't be long but we gotta get through mud season first. I know what you mean about RR tracks. I hunted the Depot over by you and the burnt coal drove me crazy. Same thing in my own yard too. Ron

You're doing good to get the 7" most of where I was hunting was between 2 and 5 in some places. Now we're only talking an area 40' long and about 5' wide. I was lucky to find that.

Sure felt good I'll tell you that. I don't usually stick around trashy sites too long. But I kind of enjoyed it today. Had to be the sun got to me.

I was using the joey coil, thats all I use, it is lite weight about like the standard coil on the x-terra and it goes deep.I hunted a old depot and had the same trouble all that old coal gave false signals I dug more coal then anything so I gave up.It sits right on the highway no grave coins to be found.Ill be looking foward to see your finds when it warms up.

NH Bob,

Got out for a little while today before the batteries died. Three dimes and two pennies. Found a new sports park and hunted in the pea stone around a couple of picnic tables. Tried the grass, couldn't get down more than an 1-1/2" Seems I can't get use to the depth readings on my machine, gives a deeper depth than it really is.

Is the stone trestle off of Rt 101? Where are you located?

Regards,
Ron

Yes, just before you get into Keene. I live east of Keene.
The depth reading is more accurate when you get a little deeper. Surface coins read deeper because of the depth gauge. 1 mark to 1 to 2 inches.

U know- you wouldnt stoop so low like us diggin little zincs sinse U claim too dig just as many big pennys right???????

AJ.

I got the fever too Jack. I'm just itching to get out and hunt. This warm spell must have got to me
What I posted before meant Location dictates what we can hunt. I have and never will cut anyone down for only being able to hunt clad. I have always said that every find is worth showing.

And NO where in there do I imply that "I'm too good to dig clad like the rest of you" as you put it.
I am so tired of trying to defend everything I post.
If it were not for a few of the guys on this forum who are decent folks It would not be worth wasting my time here.

You got out and found some coins and had some fun.
You never know what people carry and lose.
I hope that you can get back out and have some more fun.

I fully intend to BJ. and enjoy I will.
Forums are for sharing and camaraderie.
This hobby spawns some of the nicest folks I've ever met. I have friends from all over the world. But this one forum has a problem. I'm sure it will be fixed but for now it's like walking down a dark alley.

Bob, some people just don't play well with others.
Life is to short to let a jackazz spoil it.
Remember, never argue with a idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Beep and dig and have fun...HH...BJ..:usmc:

He seldom says anything of a positive nature about anything. First time that I ever posted here he had to make a sarcastic remark or two...I now find him kinda amusing and predictable. Kelley (Texas) :)

There are lots of good folks posting here. Unfortunately the only means of communication on the Forum is by the written word...no body language. As such, posting a message can sometimes lead to situations where you offend someone or you are offended when that is not the intention of the posted message. Just be respectful to folks and give it some time until they get to know you. Over a period of time, you will gain many new Forum friends. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)
