I pulled a "John" and picked up three dollar coins..

The rain finally stopped for a day or two and I got out yesterday evening for about 45 minutes and rounded up this pile. Took my trusty 1500 out this time. Went to a local school playground. Found the dollar coins under the monkey bars all in a nice neat pile. Some kid hanging upside down dumped his lunch money.

Wish people would start carrying more of these coins or giving them to their kids instead of foolishly hoarding them. With over a billion minted they ain't never going to be scarce or a collectible.

Youre so right about the dollar pieces. Even the mint is upset about the disgust-or-hoard mentality surrounding the Sac Dollar.

The solution would be elegantly simple but HIGHLY unlikely to happen. Just STOP making paper dollars, as they've done in Canada. There're pro's and con's to this action, of course, but it would resolve some the problem at one fell swoop...

Glad to hear you could get out again.

Before New Years it sounded like you were getting lots of rain.

I've been out every night with the 550 since the new year having a blast. Weather is suppose to get bad again starting Friday so I'll have to break out the ice pick again.

Cheers!

Yeah and the Mint spent $40 million on a promo campaign to coerce people into spending these coins and even that didn't work. No explaining the human species.
