I posted these on the Friends and Finds forum but seeing how they are relics..

Thought you may like to see them here. In the past I went mostly for buttons, musketballs and coins with the DFX and many of the iron relics went into tree branches or on top of stumps or stonewalls. Now that I have the X5 I'll be posting more relics. I always liked the relics but it is sometimes a long way to carry a horseshoe or axehead back to the car from a long ways in the woods. It is interesting how the a new machine can change one's preference a bit.

Nice finds Brandon. One item appears to be one part of an Ox shoe (bottom pic, top right). Oxen "shoe's" were two separate pieces; one for each hoof. They have become quite collectable. GH, David@Dixie

I used to throw horseshoes away but no more. A short while back I dug a horseshoe and started to get rid of it but changed my mind and kept it for good luck. About 15 minutes later I found my first seated coin, 1842 seated half dime. Never will I ever throw another shoe away. HH
