Tnx = Boog:shrug::detecting::usmc::usaflag:
I guess i'm old fashioned and want a REAL detector, is this one??

They are not a bad machine. The discrimination works well plus it has a true all metal mode in it. Various coils available allow it to make a nice relic hunting machine and/or coin hunter. It is not as light as the newer machines, but an elbow support is available if you don't already have one. It is one of the few machines out there can be swung just swinging your wrist instead of your whole arm for swinging the coil. Might be a bonus if you suffer bursitis or tennis elbow. I regret selling mine many years ago so that I could purchase a newer Garrett machine. I would probably buy another one if a cheap used one came across me.

They are a good machine but have just been over shadowed by all the new detectors out. I believe it is one of Charles Garrett's favorites. And you have to realize that there are thousands of Garrett owners out there who don't post on the internet. There are thousands who read these forums and never post, they just lurk, although I wish they would all check in and post once in awhile.

I've been hosting this forum and the Garrett Classroom before this one for years and there are far more lurkers than posters. Think of all the things we could hear and learn if they would just come forward.
