hi, charakel. as a long time hunter and proud [ and very productive ] owner of the pioneer 202, i think i can give you some good advice on it's operation. i run the sensitivity jacked up as high as ground conditions permit me to. if it starts to break up or start chattering, reduce it a little until it stops, and keep hunting. i run low discrimination, about 9 o'clock, so i don't miss out on the gold. and i don't.
sure, i might dig more iron this way, but it works for me. some iron is good. i have a feeling your're not looking in the right places that you really want to be searching in. if you want to find the old stuff, go to old homesites. if your're looking for clad, go to the park. if your're looking for old relics, go to old homesites or near battlefields if there's any in your area.
dig all good repeatable signals, and you won't be disapointed. i can't recall the first time i ran my sensitivity at 12 o'clock. that's a serious waste of time with the 202. i would pack it in and go somewhere else. the ground would be way too hot for just about any detector at 12 o'clock.
i hope that you have good headphones; you need them with the 202. i hope this will help you. have you reviewed your owner's manual several times? good luck, charakel. hh,
