I have the stock 8x9 which I do not use much. I have the 5.75 which I love. I want something in between the two that will work as well as the 5.75 but cover a little more ground and go a little deeper. I see that Tesoro offer's a 7" and an 8" coil and they offer both concentric and DD. I am not sure which to buy. Our ground aroung here is mostly red clay with iron ore and most of the sites I hunt have modern trash and some square nails.

What do you recommend?

Thanks,

Julien

Julien,

I tested the 7" against the 575 and I prefer the 575. It seems to have better depth. For what you would save using the 8" over the 9 by 8 it wouldnt pay. You might as well use the 9 by 8. I thinky you have it covered with the 575 and stock 9 by 8. Also remember, changing coils on the Cortes, which is factory preset machine, you really should have the factory retune it to the coils you regularly use.
