dose anybody use the Whites Beach Hunter???? I got a chance to get one N was wondering if the beach unite work better on Gold N Silver in the Black sand?????? Is this a good unit, Thanks MickFin

The Beach Hunter ID does have a problem with black sand, go with the Surfmaster PI if your beaches have a lot of black sand.

I have and use the BHID! I love the machine and there are good posts available if you search under "BHID or "Beach Hunter ID". I use it on the NE coast with high black sand and it works well for me as it's all about ground balancing and adjusting the sensitivity correctly. White's has now made the super 12" coil available for the machine and mine is finally going out for the upgrade. The newer spider coil is epoxy filled and neutrally buoyant with a 25 to 30% depth increase to boot! The stock coil works great but I mention this as all BHID owners should be aware of this information. I would suggest running in "all metal mode" for depth as you still have the target lights indicating iron, gold or silver. There's plenty of BHID owners doing very well with the machines and I hope you have a blast with it too!!!

Happy hunting to all!!!

I will be getting mine tomorrow and can't wait to try it out this weekend! Keep us posted how you like yours and I will do the same. I am gonna run mine for a little while stock and then put the 12 on it. Good luck

are they hard wired in or interchangeable? I'm thinking about getting one, maybe in the Spring, and would really like to know, especially if they are hard wired. Please let us know how you do with the new 12" coil as that may be a determining factor for me. Thanks and best of luck to you guys. Hope you make many great finds. :detecting:

Yes, they are "hard wired" and the unit needs to be sent to the VA repair facility to keep the warranty intact. I've been told from reliable sources that this mod turns the machine into a real monster!! It improves the stability and is still very sensitive to small targets at great depth! I've had mine boxed up and ready to ship but keep taking it out due to detecting opportunities that come up (LOL)! I will be sending it very soon though!

Happy hunting to all!!!:clapping:
