I need help with my garrett ace 250 !

Ive had my ace garret 250 for a couple months now...Ive found some good stuff. What seetings do you guys put yours on ? I seem to bounce all over the place...not knowing to set it on coins, all metal, customs etc. Any ideas or suggestions ? The settings are set up that if I eliminate pull tabs, I may miss out on finding a ring etc. What is the best setting to have it on with the ace 250 ?
THANKS !!!

I would set it on jewelry mode, and have the sensitivity between 4 and 6 bars. If the sensitivity is set to high, you will get a lot of false signals and erratic target ID. If you amend the custom mode to be the same as jewelry mode, it will be saved each time you turn the detector on and off. Also just dig repeatable two way signals. You will find pull tabs, but you won't miss any gold rings.

Thanks Bob...so jewlery mode on 5 bars huh ? I definitely eliminate foil and iron every time on the 250. Im just trying to get away from those pull tabs... LOL.
Any other suggestions on settings ??? Do you guys agree with Bob ? Jewlery mode and 5 sensitivity for the ace 250 Thanks !!

When I said sensitivity between 4 and 6, I meant set to 4, 5 or 6 depending on the ground conditions. If you discriminate out the pull tabs, you will loose some gold rings !!

For me, much depends on the area I'm hunting. If it's full of trash, I'll eliminate most of it out, BUT....I do this because I have trouble getting up and down, and by the time I'd dug all those pull tabs, or pieces of foil, I couldn't dig a gold ring anyway. I guess you can say I "cherry-pick", but it's because I need to make the most from each time I get down on one knee. Honestly, this is a large reason I don't hunt parks, or trashy areas much, just not worth it to me. I'd rather spend more time researching cleaner older homesites, schools, churches, etc.

On sensitivity, I seldom run over about 4 bars. Generally, old sites I hunt are full of iron, nails, etc, so I'll eliminate it out as well. I'll start leaving nickles in....but if all I dig is trash, I'll notch them out too. Again, my style is probably different than most because of injuries. Have I passed-up on some good targets? Maybe, probably, but sometimes I return (if I'd made some decent finds on the 1st hunt) and hunt it a 2nd or 3rd time after I've rested-up and can dedicate my energy to digging the more "iffy" signals.

Jewelry mode is alright, but I use the Relics mode. I have found a gold bracelet and a gold earring that "booped" and would have been missed in the jewelry mode. It seems to handle target masking better, also. In high trash areas I have edited the customs mode for rings that fall in the foil region-which are very prevalent in my area- and basically it's the coins mode but with the foil notch added. But I have said and will always say, the Relics mode and the sniper coil are awesome.

wow I guess it comes with experience. Thanks so much for the feedback...if there are any others, please jump in. I agree with not really liking parks.

Like they said, jewelry mode (or relic if that's your preference) and DIG Everything.
But I admit, that last part depends on where your hunting. If its just loaded with trash
I don't because I have bad legs and it damn well hurts bending and stooping and....well you
know what I mean.
