I need help:help:

Hey everyone...I was at the park earlier and turned on my landstar, everything was fine until I started searching the area...after about 5 minutes I realized I wasn't getting any hits.
so I sat down and got a coin out of my sisters purse. and swung the disc over it, Nothing happened,Its wasn't getting the signal. After about 2 minutes trouble shutting I found out It was the disc thats causing all the trouble. Should I call in bounty hunter and ask them to send me a new disc? Or is this a common error or something that would fix itself?

would like to get this thing figured out so I can go back out...Thanks.

Hi Dalton, I don't believe that's a common problem, at least I haven't heard of very many like it. The only time mine has failed to give a signal over a coin was when the batteries were dead or the coil wire wasn't completely connected at the control box so that would be the first thing I'd check. If those things were OK, I'd go ahead and call BH.

Hi guys,

I had the same issue today. I was very frustrated when I put my wife's silver jewelry and couple of coins down on the floor and with the larger coil nothing happened. It would not detect anything. The small 4" disk worked fine and I successfully found some stuff in my backyard. I own the TimeRanger unit. I'm definitely thinking about calling BH to replace the coil.

If one coil works, and the rest do not...try spraying the contacts on the coil plug ONLY with WD-40 or contact cleaner...make sure you wipe out all the excess WD-40...it is better to use a fast drying solution such as contact cleaner....if this does not work...most likely your coil has gone bad...

Yup...After 2nd thought...use the contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol...and then use a Q-Tip to get any excess out of there...You just want to get any crud or corrosion off the contacts...You do not want to spray anything into the control box plug (it may get into the detector...You would think that after all this time, Bounty Hunter would have gone to screw on plugs

Nope...didn't work:confused: I hope It doesn't take long to ship it there and back...anyway good luck everyone (if I cant be out there having fun might as well wish you all luck:twodetecting:

Dalton: While your LS is being fixed tell me where you're at so that I can use my LS to find your coins for you. Or I'll just plant little flags and let you dig 'em! :surprised:

You'll have her back before you know it, and she will work as good as new...I have noticed since they replaced the receptacle on mine that I get much less falsing now...It stays quiet until I actually have a target now...I looked at the plug and see that if you take a thin object and put it behind the pins you can force them back together so the plug connection is tighter. This should solve a lot of peoples falsing problems...just be careful not to distort the plug or open up the holes...

Yeah, but after a couple of those the ol' brain cells would kick in and you'd ignore the rest! :clapping:
