Should be some confederate relics down that way!
Try your local historical society and refer to old maps of the area.Research is the biggest part of detecting and it pays off most of the time.
Good Luck,

There are several good ideas on how to find Civil War relics in this recent post. It will probably help you get started. Incidentally, welcome to the Forum and to the hobby. If you can stick with it there will be no greater thrill than finding your first bullet.

I found alot of bottles out in some woods. I was wondering how old a mums Bristol Myers company cream deodorant is worth and what may be the date. I am missing the lid and the cream of course:garrett:

Old roads, water nearby, and high ground. You will find something I guarantee. Oh... and patience. Good luck and keep us posted.

Try and give them a call. I found door knocking works best, people like to see you in person when asking to hunt on thier property.
Best of Luck,

Do a little research about Lookout Mtn. There was a lot of Union troop movement between Trenton and LaFayette. Also, all kinds of Confedrate picket post along the routes. Good luck and let us know what you dig.
