I need everyone's comments on which detector to get my Younger Brother for his B-Day.

Morgan lives in Alberta in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains so he is interested in doing a little gold prospecting in the rivers there. He would also like the machine to be good on the land as well as the water so he can hunt parks as well as swimming areas. He's always been a dirtfisher but I'm trying to change his thinking to water, not that it's ever easy for an older brother to change a younger brothers mind on anything.
I'm thinking a Tesoro Tigershark might be the way to go and it fits my budget as well as my performance requirements. I don't want to spend more the $750 if I can help it.
Your thoughts on this are, as always, Greatly Appreciated.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:

Tesoro is the way to go if you want a "cheap" detector for those purposes. I have a lobo ST and it works very well for gold nugget detecting. You can get the coil wet, but dont get the electronics housing wet. I used it in Alaska in 2003 with very good results and got many small nuggets out of a creek. Bought it in Arizona and it handles mineralized ground very well but is only as deep as a normal VLF detector. Havent used it on the beach yet, but I have a Minelab Excal 2 for that and I love it.

Sorry Mate, I've already got two brothers but if you need a brother I can spare you my older brother. No charge, heck I might even throw in a Sovereign but it's a package deal, you have to keep my older brother. You have no idea what a good deal this would be for me.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:
PS: Just kidding about the older brother thing, my Mom would killed me if she ever found out I had sold him off.

But wen he dose go he can dig all but no RED Lights not eveon a flicker its so accurate, And wen it rains I can Hunt??? my friends got too put covers N wen its too bad got too go in, I Like the open disc, My other unit is a XLT, Ben Hunting for 25 years think im gana hunt the water this year my Ring count is going up!!!!!
