I need a picture of the end of the coil connector of a Garrett

Does anyone have a close up end view of a coil plug from a Garrett 8.5 crossfire or 10x14 pro power dd or 12.5 crossfire or a 4.5 crossfire. Just a picture of one of the coils will do. I'm working on another project. Thanks.

Garrett has two... the older one has a different pin placement from the newer models and are not interchangeable. Hope this helps and as I don't have a new or older Garrett can't help you out...If you get a picture ascerain if its the new or old model...

Good afternoon, khouse, the crossfire and the crossfire II are not interchangeable, only because of the connectors. The older crossfire has a 5 pin x configeration , one oneach leg of the x and one in the middle. The crossfire II has a horseshoe shape connector, easily distinguished from the x hope this helps

Jr,
You answered my question. I should have asked about the number of pins. That's really what I needed. Thanks.

Is the only difference in the old and new crossfire coils the plug? Garrett shows the coils for the GTA 1000, 500, 350 and CX models use 6.5 KHZ. I think the newer crossfire coils are in the 7 to 7.2 KHZ range? Did Garrett only use two plugs - the old style and the new style? Does the new plug fit most all the new detectors?
Thanks for taking the time.

Good evening again khouse, was told by garrett on a similar coil question, the connector was the only difference. The question of different frequencys did not come up in the conversation. I only asked if there were interchangeable, again was told not interchangeable because of the connectors. I guess I would just call garrett. If you have a source for a reasonable priced coil, well the connectors are avaiable from garrett, and much cheaper than coils.

Talked to garrett, this morning, you are correct, the different frequency coils ---will not-- interchange.

Here's the point I was trying to make. Garrett shows the older crossfire and propower dd to be 6.5 khz. The ace 250 is 6.5 khz. So why not add the ace 250 plug to the dd or crossfire concentrics and run them on the 250? I have talked to mary at garrett and she said it would work but it's not reccomended. I then followed up with some more questions and am waiting to get the answers. This could open up a whole new selection of coils for the ace 250/150. If I had an older coil it would already be on my 250 being tested. What do you think?

Good evening, khouse, yea its quite easy to get a tiny bit suspecious of industry marketing new rather than a simple addaption, inthe form of a very inexpensive connector. Your asking my opinion, thank your for your confidence in that opinion. I think garrett has to give you a better reason why they don't reccommend it, the reason from garrett has to include some danger to some electrical components within the internal electronics. But I'm with you, with the same frequency, as garret said, it will opperate. I wish i knew electronics, I now just know enough to get into trouble, I don't know enough to realize how much I don't know. I want to encourage you to continue to pursue this, this may make manny manny 250 onwers very happy. Best of luck, and a very merry christmas.
