I need a new detector any advice?

I just started in detecting only a couple months ago and am hooked I am already lookin to upgrade my detector. I currently have the bounty hunter 80.00 model from Cabelas I think it is normally called the gold digger. I still have a pretty small budget and have to keep it around $150 without goin over $175. I am mostly coinshooting and finding rings and stuff with my current one and have enjoyed it. I dont think I am really into finding any of the older relics moslty lookin for older coins and such. So with that in mind I was thinking about the Ace150, Bounty Hunter Discovery 1100 or 2200 (used), or the bounty hunter lone star. If their are anymore out their let me know, but that being said what would be the best for my money. Thanx all.

hi budha, the list you have are all good machines, but don't forget the f2 fisher, the tesoro compadre or for a couple bucks more an ace 250. theyr'e all great machines, and well worth your consideration. personally, i would go with the tesoro compadre. that's where i think you'll get the most bang out of your bucks. good luck, and hh,

I have used my finds to buy most of my newer detectors and extras. Try and use what you find towards your newer detector as they can pay for themselves.

Man, I wouldn't get the Ace 150, just save a little bit more and get the Ace 250!!! Its 2x the machine the 150 is for just a bit more money!!! Look in the classified section on this forum and on eBay. You might be able to get a used 250 for that price.

KellyCo has a brand new Ace 250 for $212, here is the link:

Look below at my coin totals, I just started metal detecting back in March. I look for coins and old coins too - I love my Ace!!!
