I Need A Coin Plugger

Michigan Badger

New member
A while back I saw someone using a long handled coin plugger and when I asked them where they got it they told me they had in special made.

For about the last 5 years I've searched in vain for a supplier of a good coin recovery plugger tool.

If they're made right they work great.

Anybody know of anyone anywhere who makes these 3" wide coin pluggers with long handles? I'd want one that can go at least 6 inches deep.

Thanks,

Badger

Sorry Badger I don't know but sounds like it might be a good digging tool to use while :detecting: and I hope you are able to find one or the info of where to purchase it! :)

God Bless!

I modified a short one that works but we never have moist soil so dont use it. I took a "bulb planter" and bolted on metal bars to reinforce it. Maybe you can modify one to take a handle ? Steve in so az

Thanks Steve,

We have the same problem here with dry soil except in the spring.

They'll usually work in heavy black dirt though.

www.targetbuddy.com has a product for just that. I did a search for hole cutter and it brought up this site from the Minelab Explorer forum on 9-20-08 by Eric in NJ. Hope this helps.

it is common practice to make a U shaped cut into the grass - leaving part of the grass attached like a flap. This helps the grass recover when all is put back in order. A total round hole such as one a 'planting' tool or the coin thing you are looking for would end up leaving round dead spots in a yard....not a good thing.

So why risk losing digging places to make it easier to make a quick retrieval? Something to think about. I'll stick to using the handheld digger I use and cut the U shaped plugs. JMHO.

Found this link: http://www.jimmysierra.com/toolsdetail.htm

Not the same as the one I had seen though that was modified from something.

I use a plugger without any problem. I first cut a u-shaped hole and flip the grass back, then use the plugger to retrive the target. Then fill the hole back, flip the grass back, step on it and you can't tell where I dug. Works fer me.
