I must say the Factory V3i is much improved over the original "Vision " Model

Love the Polar plot mode.....and many of the new addition modes too.

Operation is a big improvement all around in my Opinion. Seems like a different machine , and technically I guess it is.

I agree and if anyone still has the original V3, I would strongly advise getting the upgrade.

All of them were good machines but the V3i is the the smoothest by far. Yazoo

Been giving me good sound advice on operating the V3i....... He really knows his stuff too.
Thank you Larry !!

You are welcome Elton.

In a nutshell all I have told Elton, who is new to the V, is to not get all wrapped up in the adjustments at first. All of the factory programs are very good and I use the Hi Pro with minor changes to my liking and I think I do very well with it. So for the new V owners, I might suggest to just get out hunting and have fun and don't get obsessed with the fine tuning at first, they will come to you when the need arises. If you want to make a VX3 out of your V3i, put it in 3 frequency correlate mode and get a 950 coil, set the RX for stability and go have fun. You do not have to understand what everything does on the V3i to have fun metal detecting, but if having fun to you is understanding all of the bells and whistles and adjustments, you will have a blast with the V.

I have to agree with Larry, he makes me.

There are guys just trying too hard to make the V complicated. I've got guys asking some very technical questions and their detector is still in the mail. Just use the factory programs at first and get out and hunt.

I still remember my first hunt with the V. Larry loaned me one and helped me turn it on. I'd never even seen a manual. We got over 300 quarters in 2 days and I got $100 dollars for the story from Whites. Have some fun, that's what it is about.

I agree with all of the above, but have a question for Larry. When running the Hi pro, which coil are you using and in my ground in Az. what adjustmennts would you make in that program? Any help would be appreciated thank you

I like the 10X12 SEF but there really is not that much of an advantage over the D2 in most cases. I don't know your ground so I don't know what changes to make, if any.
