I mentioned "grid hunting' to BDA in a post below. But i actually seldom do that, how do YOU (yes, You) hunt in the water???

I walk back and forth parallel to the beach, using the depth as a gauge to stay fairly straight.
I do think if I ever found a really productive area (HA!!), that I would work a tight grid then.

Except I usually run perpendicular to the beach. Most of my beaches are really devoid of targets. But, if I hit a target-rich beach, I'll run that pattern, then flip around and run a pattern parallel to the beach.

ankle deep, knee deep, waist deep, neck deep and hope the force is with me. steve

Most of my good finds have come when I have relaxed enough to just follow my instincts based on the beach conditions. I find if I think about it too hard I get tabs with a little clad mixed in, not rewarding and not much fun. When I just go with the flow, good finds start to happen. Not very scientific but it works for me so that's good enough in my books.

Don't push the river,
