I ment to ask yall, XLT - XLT E question....

What's the diff???? I assume that the E is the new model. What about the rainbow mdls? I can't remember if the XLT I had was an E or not been several years back. Thanks for looking!

Previous model had a rainbow decal and the E-Series is the present black and gold. Marketing is all.

Nope...exactly the same. I have asked this at distribution and was assured that there are no changes to the basic initial design (as to functionality). A few things have changed... but it is only in the painted finishes, decals and new developments in coil design. Same.

Read somewhere that Whites had to replace the Motorala processor on the the XLT at some point and not sure where i read it, perhaps someone would know for sure but doesn't really matter now. They also redesigned the XL Pro from the old 6000 Di Pro SL without losing performance. I have an Eagle Spectrum and a fairly new XLT and can't tell the difference between the ears but love the newer screen.

Haven't heard that. Heck, I inquired about this at the time of the E series intro. (Maybe I'm not current.) I'll ask on Friday.

A regular XLT and the new XLT E would be the same preformance wise??? What's the current "software" version??? Would that make a diff??

The first XLT's were version 1.0, but it was very shortly after they made a few changes to tame the higher sensitivity of a couple of programs and gave us version 1.1 which is the same version used today.

Basically, an XLT is an XLT is an XLT. I've personally owned twenty (2) of them and know subtle little differences.
