be well worth the money. I enjoy reading about all the new cameras and lenses that are now available on the market, so much out there compared to just twenty or thirty years ago. Kelley (Texas) :)

you can spend a mniimal amount and get decent/good pictures or you can spend a lot and not notice any difference....kinda like stereo systems...
as far as lenses i dont know that i could notice much difference in most lenses ...

That being said, what you have to determine is what is acceptable for your type of pictures. The lower priced lenses are OK for family pictures and etc., but you will want to purchase the best lens that you can afford if you are a serious photographer or professional. Just my humble opinion. Kelley (Texas) :)

For the most part, I think this article will get you started in understanding lenses. I do not agree with the part about third party lenses, and think some are good lenses. Kelley (Texas) :)

you can buy one like it for $75 to $125 if you have patience watching Craig's List or eBay. I also have another kit lens that is just junk, I seldom use it. Don't ever assume that a low price lens is junk, some might surprise you with what they will produce. I always suggest that you do lots of research of all the available lenses in the price range that you can afford. Also, there is nothing wrong with buying used lens or older vintage lens if the price is right. Kelley (Texas) :)
