I made a Navy Veteran a happy man!!!

I found a Navy Veteran his lost class ring today after finding it with my AT-GOLD it rang up as a 75-76 on VDI and here's a message he sent me on FB.

I lost my 54 year old college class ring while piling brush about 2 weeks ago. I looked this place over and could not find it.
Morgan and Josh came over with metal detectors and just before dark Morgan knocked on the door and shook my hand. He dropped the ring in my hand. Talk about a happy fellow. It made my day and other days to come. Thank you Morgan and Josh. You are fine fellows and made an old man very happy! Jim Etheridge

Good karma for you buddy. I am still trying to ascend the karmic ladder to avoid coming back as a turd munching fly. It"s a work in progress.

Excellent work guys, you will be rewarded.

Good on ya!...thats a rare and humbling thing you did...sounds like you and your bud are quite a team...thats hard to find and very hard to beat, makes for a wonderful life all around...

SCORE!!! All around.

Nice job!

Finding that ring made my day what made it even more special was that my hunting partner Josh is my 13 year old son and he was able to experience the happiness we brought the gentleman that had lost it. He had tears in his eyes seeing how happy we had made the Veteran who lost it talk about a life learning event for him.

And why not submit a nice story to Garrett. You might win a great prize too!

Thanks John I just sent in a submission to them.

Well done to both of you. It's great PR for our hobby and I can't think of anything better to do than help one of our senior veterans. God bless both of you.

Just caught up to the thread. I think everyone before me said it all. This is a case in point where the gentleman gets his treasured ring back and you guys walk away with something (treasure) in your hearts that is priceless. :clapping:

Ytcoinshooter this ring was very treasured by him he's had it 54 years and he said he worked very hard to earn the money to buy it he said it cost him 400 back then which was a lot of money. Now here's the good thing his house was built in 1941 and he gave me permission to detect it anytime I want to. I passed up a lot of good sounding high VDI number signals while searching for his ring. He lives on about 2 acres of land so I have a place to hunt for a while. I know there's got to be some silver in that yard.

Awesome that you found that Vet's ring!! I see the tears in the man's eyes and the happiness when he triumphantly shows the ring back on his finger where it belongs. Now you have a sweet place to hunt for quite a while. Nice job guys!
