I love the 3 x 18 inch coil for jewelry

Great in larger parks. It's the only coil I use in Tot lots for really fast coverage. A lot of jewelry was lost during the past several years and is still shallow. Finds coins and rings down to 4 inches deep. Have one for my Vaquero and one for the Cortes. The depth ID shows deeper so I inore it. When searching deeper I use the stock coil, but for the shallow jewelry the 3 x 18 lets me cover a lot more ground in the same amount of time.

Works well until you hunt an area where there's a lot of gum wrappers and trash.

Does this coil work on a Silver U Max? Is there one for the Silver.?The local characters have stripped most of the trash out of the area tot lots, so this might be an interesting option for them and my 30 acre retirement yard..How is pinpointing? One area, either a probe or Daves ring/coin removal tool,,,no digging..Two sites, lots of territory. Would almost be like the three cats going out with the one that drank Castor Oil. One digging, one filling, and one looking for new territory.Cordially NAD

I wouldn't use around picnic tables.

Nad, the one for my Cortes is a uMax coil. Pinpointing is dead nuts accurate using the front tip or back tip. Bought it through Backwoods Detectors ( forums sponsor), great guy to deal with. If you get one, get the lower shaft for easier coil changing. I don't use the scuff, makes it a little heavy, besides I use this coil only over grass. I air tested a ladies 14k gold band ring, good strong signal at 4 inches, real short signal at 5 inches. Also tested a girls gold chain bracelet, max 1.5 inches, gives a short choppy signal when chain is laid straight or when bunched, but then the light weight chains often stay tangled in the grass roots. This is going to be funny. I paid $162 and change for the Silver U Max.The coil retails at $199..I'll ring up Back woods..The secret of life is ," At 70,you get what you want now,.If you put it off,,,well .....you can always ask for another chance to go round" Cordially Nad
