I love my Explorer SE - Large copper this morning

Went back to the same area of the park where I dug the three indian head cents the other day and came away with a nice 1853 large cent this morning. A very deep hit that bounced around the upper right corner of the smart screen. After not doing well park hunting for 3-4 months with my new XP Deus, I switched back to the Explorer and boy, I'm glad I did. The XP is an excellent relic hunter but with the large coil, I struggle with it in the trashy parks. My 12th large cent out of this old, "hunted out" city park.

This spring I hit some of my hunted out sites with my new Equinox 800. I found some stuff, but probably not more than if I had hit it with my XS again. It did not bring the place seem like virgin territory, like the Explorers did when they first came out. But... I need to put more hours on the Nox. I did find several clad quarters that I missed with the XS, they rang up at 18 on the NOX, way lower than they should. I need to spend more hours and learn its language.

I wonder how many of the current users on the forum have detected with the XS and SE? I still WAY prefer the true 2D id screen and not a single line display, suspect many that were familiar with those machines are ageing out.

Sounds like you are having similar results with the Deus?
