I love curb strips

Went curb stripping in a local town had a great haul. Clearest date on a buffalo I think I’ve ever found. Only my second ever SLQ . The ring looks silver and says 925 but also says Thailand so I’m wondering if it actually is silver.

Those coins are in great shape!!!
I’ve found quite a few coins in curb strips, but not many old ones other than some wheat pennies.

I’ve detected a number of curb strips in this town, some I’ve found nothing but modern coins, but on some others like the ones I did today I’ve found deep older coins. It appears as though it’s been detected before but weren’t picking up the deeper targets.

Thanks that’s good to know! I don’t have any way to test it. What is the best method to test if something is silver or not?

There are gold and silver testing kits, but silver in the dirt just has that pure silver look to it, too. HH Jim tn

I've tried detecting just about everywhere but not curb strips. Thanks for "jolting" me. I must try it.

Try placing it on an ice cube.. silver has the highest thermal conductivity and it should start melting into the ice cube immediately if it is silver and instantly turn very cold.
