[size=medium]I decided to take sevens advice, and just go out and go slow and have a good time, so I started in the driveway, ( its been in the 40,s for the last three days and the driveway has thawed) what is nice is we have a buried power line under the driveway and i cranked the silver up to just past 10 and no chatter at all . i covered an ears 3 ft wide and 60 ft long and found 17 twenty two rounds one flat zinc thing and a nice big cut nail that was about 4" deep and i could tell exactly where it was , as the 8" concentric is so awesome at pinpointing some of the 22 ,s get to 4" deep and made a nice soft sound , and the surface ones made the loud bang ing sound the small Iron was breaking and sounded like it was just a small piece of junk and it was i found several other signals like it and just scraped away the 1st 1" of ground and the signals where gone I can see this machine is going to really do well in the sports fields I can say i really like this machine now i will let the compadre go - also it did good in the gravel road finding targets thru the basalt laden gravel , I would say do not overlook this machine its really nice . Yeah, you're going to really love the Silver µMax. I know that I really enjoyed mine a whole lot. The discrimination on the lower end really works its magic in really trashy areas that's loaded with can slaw. The audio is sweet music to the ears.

thanks Tab i checked out those links , and it looks like I am not the only one that likes this humble detector.

I owned one and loved how descriptive the tones were on targets. Sure wish the Vaquero and Tejon sounded the same on targets as the Silver.
Great detector for not a lot of money. First day out with my new Silver netted me a very nice ladies 1969 10K class ring on a sports field I have hunted many time with other detectors. It came in right under pulltab on the disc and was about 5 inches down.
I enjoy watching your videos and hope to see some with your Silver............HH

Roger I will try to make some vids of the silver , you know i could not walk away from the Vaquero saying i really like it . but I can say i like this umax silver and I am well aware that its not as deep as a bliss tool and its not going to see thru a basalt stone but 90% of the ground i hunt is average, I got svens P,I for the really badd ground .

That's for sure, the audio on the Tejon is decent, but on the Silver it's awesome. I also use a Tiger Shark and find it's audio even better than the Silver.

Gunnar, I am glad you like the Silver. In a short time you will love it. Get out to some parks with it because that is where it really shines. I can't wait to see your videos of the Silver. I will probably sell my Tejon to continue financing my scuba gear for the water hunting with the Tiger. The Silver, that's never leaving my stable though. The Silver just amazes me at how simple yet effective it is. With no internal tweaks I find the max depth of it in my mild soil to be 7" and possibly 8" if conditions are right. Tesoro hit a home run when they made the Silver!
