I gotta say WOWWW!! it seems too have this extra high gain (power) built in before you even crank the gain up lol Yesterday i wanted too give it a try so i took it out in the yard for a fast 20 minute hunt and Bamm a buffalo nickle at about 4 inches and man it hit right on target! I think im in Love :inlove: with a detector i should of tried a long time Ago :). This sunday im going too a field that produced many many coins from 1700's too 1900's and relics abound as well any suggestions on how to run this unit no emi interferance there and good soil :bouncy: I have used almost every detector i have owned from e-trac ---f-70 there must be more!! :ninja: Thanks, Paul

Sas, it sounds like your off to a great start and should get better with swing time. Don't try to over power it at first over there, just keep it steady and have fun for now. The tones will blend targets at times so don't take every iron false as such. Work the target from multiple angles and see if that high tone jumps or moves indicating a false off iron. Or may resolve to iron. A good target as you probably already know will stay put. In the thick stuff take your time, it has a fast recovery so let it work out the targets. A good set of head phones will help a lot in listening to what it's telling you.

Pick out a small area and work it in TT, mark a few targets that sound good to you. Then go back in three tone and sweep the same area. See what they both show as far as targets heard and finding good saves. Both have their uses and have pulled in keepers with both. Just have fun and let us know how it went.

By the way, if you do get into an area that the unit will not GB on move off site...GB and try that. Have used tracking at times but for me anyway it seems to run high and take something away from the unit but that's just IMO.

Good luck and HH

Hello my friends well first i want to say wow deeper then i expected but targets were far and few. I have hit this field dozens of times with just about every detector i have owned The discrimination is right on the money i disc from 54 down to iron which on the Racer means all junk targets are gone. I ran the unit in 2 tone for most of the time trying all metal and three tone at times just to compare signals. This unit is a high gain deep running detector my finds were a lead bag seal,a old spoon or fork handle some old DEEP square nails a decorative plate from something but all non iron target rang in loud and clear no mistaking it most target had junk iron in the hole with the non iron Target. also wanted to mention the farmer recently spread chicken poop over the field so i had my hands full lol. I dug about all signals including deep sporadic signals and all turned out to be Nails or big junk just to see and compare signals and do i think this unit is a contender around all the other top brands you betcha. sasquache

You ran disc upto 54?I was told to run it at 10,or else I'd miss good targets? I'm gonna hafto do some investigating...:rage:

Petew your on the right track with 10 or lower. I think in sas's case he has a lot of iron and does not want to hear all the chatter. This, I feel will take away from some finds due to the area blocked out with good targets in very close proximity to iron but for now he is learning the unit and over time he can always go back with lower settings. When I first started with the unit I too ran it up to get rid of the chatter and look for the good among the bad but the guys that have way more swing time than I do helped me to see the benefits of using a lower setting to find even more in the trash. The OOR even adds to that benefit. In those high trash area don't be afraid to lower the gain, in those type locations that others had not wanted to hunt or have been forced from the targets most of the time are not all that deep...just hidden among the trash.

Over time it will come to you as other units have done.

Sas enjoy reading your findings about the unit as time goes by. HH

Also i would like to add had a few targets that beeped but no ID showed were they deep good targets or just deep big iron targets? how can one tell some of those targets didn't even show with the arrow under the color graph is this normal also?

If you gat a no vdi reading DIG IT. Cant hurt.

If I get a good faint tone with no ID I go to TT, higher gain and see what that tells me. Mainly listening for a good solid tone over what the numbers say. In most of those type targets as Dave said, I dig.

Thank you guys for the info  up here in Maine it is getting colder so not sure how many more digs i will get in befor the ground freezes

To bad sas. Know of many who are having or soon will have the same problem. Ours will be later but it will come. Got out yesterday in the 40's and thought it won't be long. Enjoy while ya can.

Ground here in Minnesota is frozen solid with 5 inches of snow on top. Waiting till April now.

Will be taking the Racer out to one of our old Arizona stage stops tomorrow. Should be about 75º, with no frost. snow, ice, or frozen ground expected!

Sure rub it in. Good luck, I used to live in Buckeye and found some nice coins in that old town.

Good for you Tom
I used to live in Tucson. It was always strange to see folks laying by the pool on a lot of Christmas days.....
Wasn't into detecting back then though when I lived there.
