I learned something new today with my F 75

HI, ALL:

Was hunting a site today that was an old college campus until it burned many years ago. It is now a church with a large area that includes a ball field. Didn't find anything old, but did experience a situation that was new to me. Let me know if you have had this happen to you. I got a solid "good" sounding signal that read in the mid 50s on the meter. Wasm't a coin number, but I dig it anyway because I've heard of gold rings coming in at the mid to low 50s. Out of the plug came two nickles and a dime. Evidently, the F 75 averages signals that are so close together it can't seperate the signals. Interesting. Anyway, I thought I'd share this with all you F 75 users and wannabe users.

keep on diggin'

Jimmy, I've had the same thing happen. The last time was a clad dime and quarter stuck together and the 75 id'ed both at 76. I've had that happen more then once and am sure under those circumstances the 75 does average. HH jim tn

thanks for the tip!..i'll remember that!..like you i would have dug it anyway!

Has anyone noticed that same averaging happen on a combined iron and coin signal? And if one disced out small iron, would the averaging still occur?? Or does the machine only average accepted targets only? Sorry for all the questions but I plan on using my F-75 in very iron infested sites.
