I know what Ed got...

A couple of months ago, Ed contacted me with a problem. Seems he had run into a bunch of extra money, and he was having trouble deciding if he should buy a new Dodge Ram pickup, or have Leanna, my 14 year old daughter, do a sculpture of his two prized schnauzers... he opted for the schnauzers. Ed sent Leanna a truckload... oh, wait, I forgot, he didn't get the truck  ... of photographs of his schnauzers, Jackie and Jake. They were to be sculpted and mounted on a single base. Leanna started on the project right away, and has worked for several weeks on each of the dogs. I am including a sequence of pictures of Jackie and Jake. She started packing clay on a simple wire frame I made, then finished and painted the pieces. I don't have room for all the photo's from start to finish, so just put up these six.

.... Jake saw the statue and came close to sniff it ... then had to be restrained to keep from trying to eat up those two tiny dogs ... he's almost normal with walking by the sculpture now that he knows they aren't trying to move into his territory.

Jackie thinks she ought to have had better photos taken before attempting the sculpture ... it's a female thing .... "If I'd have known, I'd have had my nails done ... etc ..."

So far anyone who has seen the sculpture says wow they look just like Jackie and Jake, well duh, it's a 100% spot on reproduction of our pups. The only thing we are missing is the Dodge Ram truck which is a tad more affordable than Leanna's future commissioned art projects.

Here is a photo of the pups checking out the sculpture. Thank you Leanna. You are one talented artist.
