I have held off the earge to tighten the arm cuff with the plyers! Every once so often it gets loose. The other night in some rought surf condiitions. I was way up in the wet sand (all the sand was wet to the street) I was passing a target from scoop to hand and had only my arm in the cuff when a rough wave washed in, I was now in 2ft of water and the detector spun around with the wave. As you have already guessed the cuff slid right off the detector and there went the detector. The headphones were still attached and I was able to go with it.The detector stay up and I got it back really quickly. But had the wash of the wave been going out to sea the results could have been different .I have use the plyers since!

 All it takes is a little torque and it snaps in the locked 90 degree position.

I have mine turned to locked position it still slides when wet. I have done some beach and water hunting and it was still moving over several hours it would work its way down. Two words. shoe goo. A little bit will do you set it and forget it it will not move any more.

I've given up on it. I tried to force it, and actually separated the two pieces. I now know how they assemble the cuff to the locking mechanism LOL. I will wait for the after market cuff whenever it is developed. That way I don't break my detector and make it very difficult to use.
