This guy was really enjoying himself this morning. I had taken a break and this guy and his human were having a little ball toss. His whole world eveidently consists of ...BALL!!

OK, back on subject. After getting the lawn mowed this morning, I decided that a cool dip in the lake with the ATP was in order. I managed about 2 hrs. before the place was overrun with the wee ones and their moms and dads. Heres the take for the cool refreshing 2 hrs. in the water..

I'm getting closer to getting a ring that actually has some value. The ring in the pic is a stainless steel "worry" ring with a couple of dolphins on the spinner ring,

Here's a closeup, see the little dolphin??? There's another one just like it on the other side.

Maybe the next ring will be a goldie or silver....getting closer!!

Hey! good shots and good finds! I've been hunting a "dog beach" all week, thinking and watching how folks would toss a ball or a stick out in the water for Fido to retrieve...following the dog tracks up on the sand, for the slobbering drop and retoss...thinking about how far the typical toss is, and if a lady might lose a big gold bracelet during the toss? Or a ring in the slobber on the beach? All I've got is stainless rings too..so the heck with thinking I guess.

BCD, I thought you were talking about a heat wave. I've been trying to go green and use my mountain bike for local errands. As I was pedaling about town around mid day, the temp was 98 degrees. Ick. Great photos and story.

Widebody: No, BCD usually comes home with silver and gold rings on his fingers, toes, and who knows where else, and extras in his pockets for his girlfriends and wife.

ps - look out, water hunters - I ordered a scoop, classifier, and some other stuff today. Now, there's gotta be some water in SW New Mexico somewhere... I guess there's always the numerous hot springs. They're mostly nekkid, but hopefully they don't remove their jewelry.

Hmmmm....typical....hmmmm....I can't really say for sure cuz I've had them range from just one stinkin' dime for 4 hrs. in the water to 5 gold rings for a mornings hunt. You just never know what the lake gods are going to give you!! Just be prepared for a workout. Scooping targets can be daunting sometimes. I've spent 15-20 minutes before just trying to get one target up.

It IS a heat wave here!! We're looking at near 100

Very nice ring, looks like a fun morning. I found a pair of sunglasses at the baech a couple of weeks ago. They were broken in half, found both pieces in about a 4 foot circle. Pretty nice target to trash ratio, mine usually runs more trash than good targets. Congrats Artie
