If your smartphone gets lost or stolen this app provides a web site to log onto from any computer or iPad. Click on the find phone icon and in less than 2 minutes a map comes up showing the location of your phone within 9 meters. This is the link to PC World's review of the application and has a QR scan code if you want to download this FREE app to your phone. http://www.pcworld.com/appguide/app.html?id=449285&expand=false

The Lookout Mobile Security application is very easy and quick to set up. I tested it and it found my location within about 2 minutes. The app will also allow you to lock your phone remotely and to set off a very loud siren to help you locate a lost or stolen phone.

After a detecting trip to Virginia I saw an app used called Find My Droid when a buddy lost his phone. He had stopped to check on something in the back of his truck and forget he put his phone on the truck as he was looking for something. He drove off and his phone was lost on the side of the road. I never could get this app to work properly and found it way too complex to me.

He used someone else's phone to call his wife to locate his phone from their home PC. Within minutes he was told exactly where to look and then his wife activated a loud siren sound when he was near the phone so it could be located easier in the tall grass.

I hope I never have to use it but it's there if I need it!
