I am as new as you can get to metal detecting and I have been on this forum for about a month now, and I must tell you all that you are the nicest people I have never met. You are all so willing to help anyone that asks and you all go above and beyond. I hope that i am not only as successful as most of you, but that I can one day share my experiences with such grace and tact as most of you do.

Neil, all of us were newbies at one time and how I wish when I started this forum had been going. Aint nothing like md'ing. There are so many little treasures out there and I hope you find a truck load of 'em. Good luck...d2

Hey Neil, You will find a lot of nice people here. Ask questions. None of them are stupid. We were all beginners, some of us still are, even after decades:rofl: But one things for sure, we are all addicted:smoke: HH

well thanks, masagepro! most of us appreciate the new people in our hobby too, for you all are our future in the hobby. after 25 years of this great hobby, i still get giddy when i hit an old homesite... kind of like the way i felt when i met my wife. it's all good. hh,

Welcome to the greatest hobby there is. If you aren't addicted now just wait until you dig that first silver coin or that first Civli War relic. Then its too late, you can't kick the habit. I still get excited when I dig a Civil War bullet just like I did whan I started. To think it has been in the ground for nearly 150 years and wonder who droppped it or fired it. This hobby is the best. Good luck on your hunts. Keep on digging.

Fun, part hard work, part study in History, part archeology, and one of the best things you can do..The best part is the wonderful people you meet on this forum.
Some of the kindest, help you out, fine people, you will ever care to meet right here.. They always take time out of their busy schedule to post up an answer and give their well earned knowledge freely..Tabdog, Gray Ghost, Terri, Coinnut, just to name a very few...and many, many more. I find it a privilege they let me belong to such an elite group of people.
