with my new video camera Not as good as a dedicated still camera but is not bad We are on Maui and that island the sun is setting over is Laina.

The new video camera does good on still pictures, at least it did on this one. How is Mary doing with her feet, getting better? When you get back, I have lots of questions to ask about your trip, just do not want to have you spend time while on vacation...interested in the whales, like to know if there are any snakes there and etc. Kelley (Texas)

snowing right now again... Look forward to all you clips and pictures when you get back and have time to post them. Bet that chopper ride was awesome. This is what retirement is for, do all the things we never had time or money to do when working.....

GPS caches while on any of the islands. I remember you saying you had programed in a bunch of them. Or have you even had time to do anything else. So much to see and do, I end up coming home completely wasted, which is what I like to do on vacation. I can rest
at home for free...

We are now on Kauai and exhausted. I just set up a cat trip around the western end of the island an we will be along the high sea cliffs that much of Jerassic Park was photographed. We are going snorkeling there too and see whales and porpous. that will be sunday. saturday we are taking a 172 flight around the entire island and seeing the deep valleys and such. There is a huge canyon in the center of the island and we will be getting some great looks at that

Keep those reports coming. They at least give us something to dream about!

Sounds like the perfect way to spend a weekend to me. ON one of the travel channels we watch they often show a flight on some of the islands there and it really is beautiful to see and thats on film. Its 100 times better in real life when you get to see how vast it all is....
You guys are doing it right for sure. Leave no path un traveled. Stay there as long as you can, spring is still awhile away .

I need a good whale shot screen saver picture taken by someone I know.... Guess who that is........LOL

they expect whales on the sailboat trip and we went on a whale watch trip on Maui but no great shots. the dang boat was too crowded for my taste. We saw lots of whales and lots of them jumping but they were too dang far to get a good shot or on then other side of the boat. One was right next to the boat, right under Mary but it would not surface. Excited her but pizzed her off too.

From our room on Maui I saw a whale breaching. Man I grabbed the video camera, found it, zoomed way out to get a great video on it. You know when you are zoomed like that you have to hold very still. Anyway, I was excited, zoomed way out and the thing breached again and I said, I gotcha baby and Mary all excited started beating me on the back yelling, I see it! Now I gotta tell you, that will mess up a fine video of a breaching whale Cripe, it jerked the camera all over the place.

I will post that one when I get home. Funny
