I just love the stock coil in grassy parks.......................

Spent two hours today at a park I have not been to in some time. It was a great session and since changing my personal pattern to pick up a bit more silver ( which pays for batteries) I'm having alot more fun. The stock coil just keeps on pumping out the coins for me and only wish it was a bit bigger for more coverage..........but sill I can't complain. Its been raining alot here where I live in Queensland and not far down the coast some big floods are causing havoc. It was great to get out of the house in between light rain showers. $27.10c not bad for two hours swinging.
Cheers! Enjoy.

Nice going Nugget. Nice hourly rate. I fired up the Explorer for 3 hours, for half of that result. Picking up the silver, gives you a better sense of satisfaction due to a much larger amount of coins recovered. It helps to keep them coming. I notice that you aren't going for the 5's and 10's. plenty of those in the ground. 5's are mostly on there own at 8, but the 10's blend in with the pull tabs. Something that helps them to stand out a bit, is that they lock onto 12 mostly, with the occasional bounce to 16. often, they will just lock onto to 12. It's just a matter of whether you want to chase them. I do and have found that often, on a given site, you tend to find either mostly pull tabs, or just coins. kinda weird, but that's the way it goes.

I'm just happy we can pretty much go after what we want these days.................to be able to pick and choose is fantastic and is what makes this hobby a blessing. The new Tech sure does spoil you! :detecting: and I wouldn't want to have it any other way. Cheers Mick!

Yep, I couldn't agree more. Having the notches, is heaps better than having to disc out stuff with a nob. The screen helps heaps too, but as I'm getting a handle on the Explorer, I'm noticing that the screen can tell plenty of lies.
I made a bit of a blue with my advise; I use the X-Terra 30, so what I said wouldn't be helpful, due to the fact that you use the X-Terra 70.

My eyes light up and my heart pumps faster when i see nice thick Kikuyu, the money goes in and you need a tector to get it out. Oh yeah ! Every time my wife's with me, she tells me to wipe my chin, I'm dribbling again. HH. Bob

Great finds! That is a very good amount of $$ to be found. It is times like this I wish the USA would adopt a doller coin as a standard, Beale.

It is a good incentive to go detecting.............that was one of my best days on coins for awhile I must admit, I think the rain has helped alot in that area especially when it comes to digging
Cheers!

G'Day Nugget, I'm with you, bring out a 15" for the X70 and my Explorer is history. I don't want any more depth, just coverage. HH. Bob
